here's a big tee shirt from the cannan series mountain bike races circa 1991
the start to this race is bike on shoulder and fording across a river then up a slippery
muddy bank, racing through the coal mined moonscapes and warm beaver ponds
of west va. my favorite race series.
ah well, now i have a few tee shirts to remind me

today, tired
the pants appeared in may once, green cotton
the shirt is a cotton tunic style from target bought in 2007

hey, it's the airport
we're headed home and back to a less-simulated reality
goodbye simulacra, i always think of the only theorist i can stand
br baudrilliard in las vegas, really...it's quite impressive what the human's can do

august 27

the last day at magic, pool and project in las vegas
the look today is a cotton jersey dress i made in
2006 and never wore until today
the shoes which everyone has loved here but turn into disco balls at night
tired!

august 26th

10 hours straight of seminars and trade shows at magic and pool
a really great day for my students seeing small artist/designers who are showing their stuff
the look: a linen dress made in 2007 of small bits of leftover yardage, the silver shoes
and all the swag bags from the trade shows

august 25 and i am sporting my prototype jumpsuit to travel by air to vegas.
note the disco ball y-3 sneaks

today a strange melange
a skirt of printed cotton which was once a dress from anthropologie
a top made from vintage cotton
a hot day

the look today is pragmatic
we moved mulch at school and hung some art
i am wearing my favorite canvas overalls, bought at gap in 1989 or 90
with a purple shirt. easy.

today i am featuring a favorite roomy cotton shirt from guatemala
bought in 2001 and my favorite jeans, last seen in may

welcome to back to school
this is a green rayon/poly knit printed top from anthropologie bought in
2006, black leggings....

august 21st

summer ends today in the caskey-malinoski household,
it's back to teaching for us.
today i am wearing:
a silk shirt i made in 2001 from fabric bought in new delhi in 1989 or 90
and a pair of brown cropped pants. the pants have made it into the 10 pairs i am keeping
pile so you will see the warm weather repeats

august 19th

today the look is:
a polka dot dress bought at a thrift store in 1999
easy one! i have been haging all the worn and washed clothes
on racks at quirk and i am really enjoying the feeling of purging
so many of them. i have decided to cut my stock by two thirds and
in some cases i may cut more.

august 18th

back to school for me today
the tee shirt came from the thrift store
i made the skirt in 2004 out of maroon and pink linen, it
has cut outs.

august 17th

today's look is:
a blue tank bought from a $5 rack at anthropologie in 2004, too big!
a black cotton skirt i made in 1999 or 2000 during my tucking and pleating
phase.

august 16th

today's look:
a vintage dress made in the phillipines and bought by me
in ashland oregon in 2004.
i am almost out of warm weather bottoms so next week will debut my
severely edited pants and skirts rotation.
hey, it's been 101 days

august 15th, 100 days

hey, i am one third of the way through the project, +/- a few
crazy
today's look: brown ubiquitous tee shirt paired with a brown and turquoise skirt
bought at h & m in 2007

august 14th

it's the jumpsuit again so I will have to find a new way to show it.
maybe just the back. so if you already hate it, sorry, soon it will go on a mannequin
in a show and it will be out of rotation for a few.

it's my 46th birthday.
whee!
i am wearing a dress i designed the print for when i was at urban outfitters.
a day at the beach, kite flying, silly pools, ocean splashing, bike riding and more.

going to the beach for two days, yippee.
so, i am wearing the doing things jumpsuit as it facilitates travel
and ease of packing. so, a detail view since the public has been asking

oh gracious me, three days until my birthday!

a vested gentress vintage dress with some modifications made by me,
a really beautiful screen print of trees with lions peeking out

linen pants from banana republic bought in 2000.
an orange shirt with fuzzy weirdness which i made in 2003

today i am wearing a maroon linen dress i made last spring, 2007.
i rubbed the pattern off a favorite ventilo dress i bought in paris in 2000.
i have the word ortolans floating through my mind. gross yet nice,
are they crunchy?

august 5th

a hot day
sewing madly, gardening and child rearing are all in store
this is a dress i made in 2002 from vintage fabric i bought in 1997 or earlier
time to relegate it to a housecoat or a lulu dress eh?

a linen dress i made in 2002 as a nursing dress, yes it's true.
there are concealed slits under the flap. but i like the dress, time to look
