IT HAS TAKEN 338 DAYS TO GET HERE. now I have a much better ability to toss things, though it may have gotten too good and I don't know what still is good in some ways. looking forward to summer and making lots of simple dresses.

here is a grey cotton velveteen dress i made in 2000 for an art piece which i never completed. i intended to obsessively scratch a pattern into the surface with a pin, a sort of nervous habit like biting my nails. so, worn for the first time today! here it is un-scratched

this brown knit wool dress was copied from the pattern of one of my favorite dresses from paris by ventillo. maybe too long? but i can shorten it.

i have been reading lots about apples, even with my trees 3-4 years from bearing age.
i never knew 12th night was most likely an early spring ritual and wassailing was done in the orchard to the oldest and best bearing tree. so tuesday night at 6pm we will be wassailing the trees.

the black cashmere sweater was my first purchase when i moved to nyc in 1984 (with borrowed funds!) it is from saks and still kicking. red pants i made, the vest is a vintage wool knit picked out of the rag line at a rag pickers in philly in 1990. one of my faves.
