im tired already. made two pies and now onto turkey mode. one narraganset turkey, happily gobbling around a pasture three days ago. never a denizen of a factory farm, yum yum.
and thanksgiving isn't even at my house.

we tore out all the wilted tomatoes and runner beans today.i wonder who is eating my kale and collards? maybe bunnies. lulu made the grand discovery today that our friend monty, the raccoon was back at her post in the big oak out the back window, and even better, her daughter elonora was in the big oak to the right. so we will see their sweet faces all winter when the sun is shining.

today, the old jeans, a fuzzy sweater/jacket top from my old school days at urban outfitters, it was circa 1989 or 90. it even has the old uo label. my design. i have always wanted to line it with a polar fleece to provide more warmth.

a wrap blouse i made in 1998 of vintage thin wool/rayon crepe i bought in kansas city at a great vintage store in 1995. the pants are a wool from ischiko, bought at liberty of london in 2006.
they are the only pair of trousers i have which i really like.

six months and counting.
today it's only a top to vote on, i think i'm over the engineered jeans too. unfortunately i have really cheap crappy pants from old navy and target and i just need to get real and spend some money on well fitting, well designed interesting items. come march i will shop for key pieces...
just a cotton turtleneck from lands end.
just went swimming so wet and wearing crocs, with dog chewed bits, how very stylish. i love the anonymity of middle age.

hey, it's here. a jumpsuit day, previously seen only in galleries. the crabgrass jumpsuit.
good for a day of household tasks, ballet lessons and soup making.

we just took part in the un-american activity of looking for a decent, basic quilt cover in a good color or print at the toxic nightmare of short pump. the juxtaposition of supposed "green" whole foods in front of the bad movie set named short pump village is especially troubling to me. just to drive the whole thing home, the comme des garcons line for h & m isn't coming to short pump. commerce 1, malinoski caskey family 0. and those giant strollers with cupholders full of sugar and fried stuff, parked in the middle of the bathroom so nobody else can get by. oh the humanity.

rainy fall days ahead
this is the mexican wool tourist jacket i bought in hastings minnesota at a thrift store in 1982 that started my obsession with wool felt. it has been an inspiration for a perry ellis group i designed in the late 80s as well as the direct ancestor to my current lupilu work.
bonus, one of the top 10 reasons to live in virginia, 4 lbs of tomatoes picked nov 11th.

today i am featuring a tee shirt from the 1990 world mountain bike championships in durango colorado. i do have the first two years of dirt rag magazine and some assorted trophies from placing in sport races up and down the east coast. aging sucks, i don't think i could bunny hop a pebble these days.

i was upa and out at 5:30 am to vote, 1.5 hours in line watching the sky light up with my neighbors. a good scene, hopeful. off to an election night gathering where we will celebrate or tally all our assets and find a big villa in mexico.
my tee shirt, change...bought at the 2 street festival this year....yes another broken rule, BOUGHT.
and, a striped fristads shirt from sweeden via david cole. one of my very favorites.

ok, i broke the rules..it's a re-wear...i just had to. i didn't know how much the election would mean to me and how stressed out about the possible outcomes i am. looking for jobs in canada
for example, or tallying up how much everything i own is worth so we can pioneer some new more liberal territory. never fear, i have a fresh new obama tee for tomorrow
